I can relate to all who lost their loved ones in that horrible crash. It is a tragedy, there's no question about it.

But I just cannot stomach the hype around it and all these people who tweet and FB and blog about "Sick Sad" details and pictures and stuff. Over a hundred people die every day in car crashes in the US alone - why no hype, why no touching tweets that some guy instagramed his car just before getting in a fatal accident, why no nothing?

Simple — it's that much easier to be "actively sorry" for something widespread and well-known and interesting1 than for something as regular as a car crash. That is just not fair in my book.

Call me a cold-blooded bastard or whatever, but I prefer to stay away from all that "being sorry" and "it's horrible" stuff. Too many people die every day for me to start caring about it.

Yes, that's cynical, but at least I'm honest.
